Kalle Vaimare
Upcoming ICT Engineer
About me
Hello! I am Kalle and I come from a small commune called Pirkkala near the city of Tampere and Nokia. After graduating from the highschool of Pirkkala I wanted to study something that I already had some intrest and knowledge in. I've always liked computers and learning about different types of computer softwares. So in the summer of 2022 I was accepted to study Information and Communication technology in the University of applied sciences in the city of Jyväskylä! Currently studying on my third year, I've decided that my specialization will be in cybersecurity and ethical hacking!
Hobbies
Computers
Ever since I've been playing videogames I have tinkered with computers. I partly chose this study program because of my fascination with computers and computer programs. I want to apply my own skills that I've gained from learning about information technology to my studies and eventually for work.
Due to my growing interest in cybersecurity, I have been exploring how it can be applied to various software and systems. One of the most significant resources in my learning journey has been the courses offered by Hack The Box (HTB). These courses have helped me understand advanced techniques, such as extracting information through web injections. Additionally, the CTF (Capture the Flag) challenges on HTB have become both a fun hobby and a valuable learning experience. They have greatly contributed to my growth as a cybersecurity student and enthusiast, helping me sharpen my skills in a practical, hands-on environment.
3D-Modeling and 3D-scanning
I've been practicing 3D-Modeling for 4 years now and recently I started 3D scanning also. I mainly model using Blender, Revopoint and zbrush. I am quite good at marmoset toolbag which is used for baking details to the model. Because of this hobby, I've been selected into a team of indie developers making a first person shooter.
Here is a 3D-Scan of a work glove. I used a Revopoint Miraco Pro scanner, a basic electric turntable to turn the glove around to capture every part of the model and a photobooth setup with diffused lighting.
This real life glove turned into a 3D object can now be used in our game project! The scanning of this glove was quite fun and it also made me learn about photography lighting!
Portfolio
Store employee at Motonet
Since the summer of 2016 I've worked every summer as a store employee at Motonet department store. My job would consist of me doing inventory at the storage area and shelving products. I also had my own area of responsibility where I was responsible of keeping the area clean and organized. I also had to learn alot about different tools electronics etc.
Finnish military service 7.5-12.16.2021
I completed my mandatory military service which lasted for 6 months in the first engineer company as a combat engineer in Pori brigade. As a combat engineer my tasks were mine warfare as well as construction and demolition duties in combat. It was really exhausting but regardles it was fun!
Hardsurface 3D-Modeling
For 4 years I've been learning how to do 3D-modeling. Mostly I've learned to do hardsurface weapon models and simple game-ready assets. I am quite confortable with my abilities of doing these hardsurface models but I'm still trying to learn organic modeling and texturing. Right now for my freelance work my job is to work on 3D-scanning and modeling of differend types of weapons. Down below is some small snippets of the work I've contriputed to our project, my contribution was the gun model only everything else like hands and animation are done by different people.
