II1241 Application Development Tools - course for IT-PRO

The course is over. Thanks to students. The grades will be mailed to the students one of these days.

The preliminary schedule of the course

Time and place

Wednesday 8:15-12:00 in classroon D322. Check the time weekly, there can be changes occasionally! At classes we are going through lot of hands on labs, if you are not present, do labs independently. Every week there will be one or more distance tasks that should do.

Week 48

The grades has been given. The final feedback.

Week 48

The programming exam was at Wednesday 26th of November from 8:00 to 12:00. The exam was in the class D322, be there in the good time, the door was opened at 7:45.
Follow the rules in the programming exam carefully.

At Tuesday 25 th 8:30-10:00 there is possibility to come, set and test changeable harddisk, and try to program couple example exam tasks.

The last lesson.

Week 46

The last distance task. Make all distance tasks and return them to the lecturer before the exam.

Week 45

The programming exam is coming closer. Check what distance tasks you should do before the exam.

Week 44

If you have not installed SQL Server 2000 yet to your computer and/or to your harddisk in the lab, do that as soon as possible. The coming tasks are involving with SQL Server and you have to use it also in exam. There will be no extra time for installation of SQL Server or extra help how to install SQL Server in the exam.

There have been a wish that the programming exam would be at week 48, I'm still considering it, probably we will move the exam and probably there will be possibility to practice for the exam in that week, maybe at 25th of November.

Week 43

Feedback to your half-time feedback. I have been satisfied to your working, you have made distance tasks dutifully. I think that you will not have problems in programming exam and in future in worklife. Keep on going.

Week 42

Lot of time to do distance tasks and to enjoy of Finnish autumn weather ;-)

Week 41

Install SQL Server 2000 to your hard-disk, following labs and tasks will be done with it. Think what is three tiers architecture.

Please write your estimation of the task of a week. Estimate was the task easy/difficult, list new things that your learn, write also...

The course continue. The first distance tasks are published, please make them before the next lesson and return them to me before the next week lesson, here is help how to return. The distance tasks are obligatory. You will find links to distance tasks of the week from the schedule page.

Week 36 / start of the course

We will start the course 3rd of September at 9:15 o'clock in the classroom D322 (third floor).

Prerequisites

A student must have:

Returning distance tasks

All students must return distance tasks of the week with e-mail. Write to the title of the e-mail: ADT + week_number + your_last_name. Add distance tasks as attachment to the mail. If there is only a source file, you can just attach it to the mail. If there is more than one file for example many files belonging to a project, zip all project files to the zip-file. Send the mail to me (etunimi.sukunimi@jamk.fi) before next week lessons.
