Welcome to 2014

January 3rd, 2014 by Kari Nurmi

We have rejiggered our roaming profile implementation with the goal of improving performance while you are actually logged in. Consequently, login times will be worse. Your first login under the new regime is going to be exceptionally slow, and is not indicative of future login performance, which is expected to be merely slow.

Some more stuff will now fall under your profile quota, which has been increased slightly to compensate. Many of you will still be over the limit when you first log in. Even if you aren’t, please do have a look under c:\users\<username> and c:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming for things that are not relevant to you anymore. If you like living dangerously, forcing a logoff is also a really good way to get back under quota.

We will be keeping an eye on how the system performs and will make adjustments as necessary.
